THE CHESTNUT FOUNDATION
GOALS OF THE CHESTNUT FOUNDATION

FIRST GOAL:

To assist families who have more than one disabled child, where the children have either
different, or multiple disabling illnesses

SECOND GOAL:

To raise awareness of Transverse Myelitis and other rare neurological disorders that occur in
children
The Shelby and Benjamin Chestnut Foundation Inc.
was started because of these two children, Shelby
and Benjamin Chestnut. They are siblings and each
child has a rare, very serious, and very disabling
neurological illness. Shelby has a problem in the
basal ganglia of her brain. Benjamin has
Transverse Myelitis. Both also have Cerebral Palsy.
Neither child can walk or talk. These children
inspired us to do as much as possible to assist
families who do not have the resources to meet all
the medically-related needs of their multiple
disabled children.

Thank you all so much for your generosity and kindness.
URGENT NEED: Right now the side of the Chestnut family's home collapsed
causing the other side to be in danger of collapse as well. The house has been
condemned. The family is now living in an apartment in Narberth and paying
both their mortgage, so they don't lose their home, and rent for the apartment.
They cannot afford to keep doing this, especially with the many other expenses
they incur caring for these children. Their insurance is used up.  But YOU can
help. Please. ANY AMOUNT YOU CAN GIVE WILL DEFINITELY HELP. Thank you
again.
